The Tour de Flavour will feature a range of activities including a food and wine expo, a health and wellbeing expo, a huge cycling expo, wonderful music and the very best of our regions produce and crafts.
Mt Buller will be turning on the action on Saturday as well with heaps of prizes and fun for the kids as well. There will be the Mt Buller jumping castle, giant chess, live music and entertainment as well as fantastic prizes; so make sure family and friends are there to welcome you to the village.
What are the four ride options?
Option A - SCODY High Country Cycle Challenge - Saturday 17 March 2012 - 8.30am - 165km
The ultimate one-day test. Are you up to the challenge? Start with the climb up Mt Buller, then descend and add in the scenic ride out to Jamieson - maybe call into the cafe in Jamieson for a coffee - then back into Mansfield. Martins Gap (on the Jamieson Road) may not be Mt Buller but dont be fooled into thinking this is easy (Dont forget, you need to do it twice.) If it was easy, it wouldnt be a challenge!
Option B - Buller and Back in a Day - Saturday 17 March 2012 - 8.35am - 100km
An exciting and challenging ride from Mansfield to the Mt Buller village and return. If you have been around the bay, then make this your next challenge ... its only half as far as going around the bay but just as much fun!
Option C - TORQ Classic - Saturday 17 March 2012 - 8.40am - 65km
Take your time ... ride out to the base of Mt Buller and call in for a coffee at the Mirimbah Store. Take a photo of the great views to Mt Buller in the distance. Enjoy the challenge without the pressure.
Option D - CycleCover Sunday - Sunday 19 March 2012 - 8.30am - 50km or 125km.
A track well ridden in the past by famous bushrangers Ned Kelly and Harry Power (they used horses of course!) The magnificent outlook over the King Valley allowed these cunning outlaws to keep tabs on the local police as they worked to avoid capture. Now a magnificent sealed road with the same breathtaking views, this ride is one ride not to be missed! (125km option includes a brilliant lunch in Whitfield - one of the culinary highlights of the weekend!)
