The Bupa Challenge Tour on Friday 20 January 2012 is ideal for individuals or social, corporate and sporting teams looking for a ride with a difference. It’s your opportunity to ride a stage of a UCI WorldTour event, the same day as the ProTeams. Its a challenge - not a race. Part of the ŠKODA Breakaway Series, this event is for regular cyclists who can make the distance - will you make it to the finish before the professionals arrive?

Route

Santos Tour Down Under Bupa Stage 4 course. Full course of 138km begins in the restaurant and fashion hub of Norwood just 10 minutes from the CBD. From here it winds its way into the Adelaide Hills and onto the Barossa Valley for the finish in Tanunda. Additional start locations are at Gumeracha, Mt Pleasant and Tanunda. Registration

Registration fees start from $80 for early bird registrations through to $145 for full course standard registrations. All prices are in AU$ and include GST. Full payment is required to secure your registration. Read more about registration.

Jersey collection

All riders are required to wear the official Bupa Challenge Tour Jersey to gain access to the course and course services. Jerseys will be available for collection on designated days before the ride. No jerseys will be posted out to participants.

Teams

Team registrations have now closed. Team captains will receive an email by Friday 4 November listing those people currently registered to ride. Team captains will have until the 11 November to make any amendments to this list.

Coach transfers

Rider and bike transfers are available for purchase. Non riders are able to purchase these transfers if they wish to travel with a rider. Read more about coach transfers.

Official Charity Partner

Cancer Council SA, the official Charity Partner of the Santos Tour Down Under are encouraging participants in the Bupa Challenge Tour to Ride for a Reason and dedicate their ride to someone they know who has had or is currently battling cancer and raise funds to support Cancer Councils critical cancer research. Photography

Marathon-photos.com will be in attendance as the official event photographers. You will receive email notification when your photos are available to view and purchase. More information will be available in the coming months on where photographers will be located along the route and how riders can make sure they get the best photo possible.
